The objective of the CAST TOUR project is to promote and publicize the tourist attractions of Castanhal, providing tourists, visitors and residents with useful information about places to stay, restaurants and similar places to enjoy meals, and resorts to refresh yourself. In addition, the project also aims to inform about the cultural events that take place in the municipality, offering interested parties a complete agenda of cultural activities. The information available on CAST TOUR is collected through the Inventory of Tourist Offers (I.O.T) and the Tourism Projects Coordination, which are updated databases with all relevant information about municipal tourism. The CAST TOUR project is carried out on a voluntary basis by J.E Viagens, demonstrating its commitment to contributing to the development of tourism in Castanhal. Therefore, the CAST TOUR is a platform for those who want to discover and enjoy everything that Castanhal has to offer in terms of tourism and culture.

Country Brazil. UF: Pará. Municipality name: Castanhal. Tourist Region: Polo Amazônia Atlântica. Distance from the capital Belém: 65 kilometers. Total population: estimated 205 thousand 667 inhabitants, 88.58% urban and 11.42% rural (IBGE 2021). Area Km²: 1,029.191 km².Neighborhoods: The municipality is made up of about twenty-eight neighborhoods and one district, in addition to agrovillages, highlighting Macapazinho, one of the oldest and with good structure. The oldest neighborhoods have a wide structure in all areas, Districts:01(Apeú).
History
Brief History The historical origins of Castanhal are attributed to the Indians of the Tupinambá tribe. Its name derives from the Castanhal creek which, on its banks, had many chestnut trees. With the arrival of the Estrada de Ferro de Bragança, the period of development of the fields of Castanhal begins, with the settlers from Ceará, specialized in cultivating the land, hired by the Provincial Government. On August 15, 1899, Vila de Castanhal was officially created, elevated to the status of city on January 28, 1932, by the intervenor of the State of Pará, Magalhães Barata, through the decree of Law no. 68 kilometers from the state capital, Castanhal since 2011, it is located within the Metropolitan Region of Belém. The city has a privileged geographic position on the map of Pará, being crossed by the federal highway BR-316, an important route for the flow of production.

Gourmet Station, located in the Apeú district. Features of the former train station of the Belém Bragança railway.
Catedral Santa Maria Mãe de Deus, has the 2nd largest mosaic at Centro Aletti in Latin America and one of the largest in Latin America.

Círio de Macapazinho, a quilombola community, located 15km from Castanhal, is a river pilgrimage. It takes place on the first Sunday of August.
Açaí Festival of Castanhal, crafts, gastronomy and products all originated from açaí, Castanhal is the biggest exporter of Açaí (business tourism). It takes place in the month of August.
